josh and i were talking a while ago about how weird it is how a lot of love songs could be rewritten as praise songs, a different kind of love song i guess. like that movie w/ whoopie goldberg- nothing you can do can take me away from my God, nothing you can do cause i'm stuck like glue to my God... something like that. and the nicole nordeman song, that one i typed, it's written for Jesus but i think it could be a love song. maybe it's because of the similarities between the relationship b.w us and God and girls and guys.... the church is the bride of Christ- and the bible compares wives and husbands to that: husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. and wives love your guys and submit to them like the church is sposed to submit to Christ. okay i don't know that one by heart lol. but i think that's why a lot of the songs are interchangeable (ha ha but not all of them definitely), and another reason we should really think about what we are singing. if we said the same thing to our significant others all the time, i'm sure they'd get sick of it, esp if there's no thought behind it. and i'm sure that if we sing and pray the same things to God all the time, He'd get sick of it, esp if there's no thought behind it. *pharasitical vain repetition* i've been thinking about it a lot since josh and i talked, making sure what i say is really what i mean. so when i say i love you, i really doo hoo love yoo hoo
